One story stands out as a reflection of her philosophy. A financial planner reached out to Panzer to plan a 25th anniversary trip for himself and his wife. After understanding their requirements, she suggested a new AmaWaterways river cruise along the Danube. The ship, twice the width of standard river vessels, offered four restaurants, a full gym overlooking the water, and expansive suites designed for privacy and serenity. The couple returned calling it the best vacation of their lives. Their enthusiasm sparked a wave of referrals that extended across the country, each one as unforgettable as the next.

The business has also grown beyond individual trips into small hosted group travel, curated experiences that Karen and her husband personally lead. Next year, they are expanding this offering to nine trips, from luxury canal barges in Belgium to a rare river cruise along Colombia’s Magdalena River, one of the most biodiverse waterways in the world.

For Panzer, discovery does not end with travel. In Naples, Florida, where she is now based, she actively supports the local arts community, sponsoring the Naples Players, serving on the screening committee for the Naples International Film Festival, and engaging with Artis-Naples, the city’s renowned cultural institution.
