● Could you provide an overview of your role and responsibilities within the company?

Of course!I am the Director of Procurement for the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport.My main role is ensure each area of the hotel has what they need in order to serve our guests.I focus mainly on Food and Beverage.Managing contracts, supplier relationships and controlling costs.

● What are some of the key challenges you face?

Still dealing with a national supply chain that is rebuilding itself.Many items that were readily available in years past are hard to come by now.Being ready to flex and pivot to plan B or C has become extremely important

● What would you say are some of the futuristic trends that will have an impact in the next 18-24 months?

More and more we are seeing the push to be more eco-friendly.From food waste to packaging materials and recycling, I see this continuing to be in the forefront of procurement.

● What advice would you give to young professionals who are interested in pursuing a similar career, and what qualities do you think are essential for success in this field?

Procurement is a great way to learn more about a lot of different areas.Being in the middle of Accounting, Food and Beverage, Engineering etc; is a great way to expand your knowledge of the industry as a whole.Don’t be a afraid to take risks and get ready for a challenge!
