Vaux Studio has been recognized by Hospitality Business Review Magazine as the exclusive recipient of “Top Wedding Venue Services 2026,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry, and is also named among “,” reflecting its broader leadership. This profile has been developed by the Hospitality Business Review research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Chanel Friscia, Owner and Creative Director.
Chanel Friscia, Owner and Creative DirectorCouples planning weddings are increasingly prioritizing intimacy, personalization and thoughtful guest experiences over large-scale traditional celebrations. Vaux Studio built its event concept around that shift by creating a designfocused micro-wedding venue centered on intentional experiences rather than standardized event formats.
“What differentiates Vaux Studio is that we’re not simply a venue, we’re an intimate event space housed in a historic brownstone and designed to feel both elevated and deeply personal,” says Chanel Friscia, owner and creative director.
Vaux Studio developed the space specifically for micro-weddings and smaller celebrations where guest interaction, atmosphere and design cohesion could receive greater attention. Instead of operating as a blank event hall requiring large-scale transformation, it combines architectural character with layered design elements that create a distinctive visual identity from the beginning.
Couples work closely with the venue team to incorporate personal details into the environment through florals, lighting, layout and tablescape design. It believes smaller guest counts allow celebrations to feel more immersive and emotionally connected while reducing some of the logistical complexity associated with larger weddings.
Vaux Studio also found that many couples entering the planning process were looking for clarity and simplicity rather than an overwhelming number of decisions and vendor relationships. The venue structured its services around reducing coordination fatigue while maintaining personalization throughout the experience.
Building Weddings around Guest Experience
Many clients approaching Vaux Studio are searching for a wedding experience that feels intentional rather than heavily production-driven. Couples often want elevated aesthetics and memorable guest experiences without managing the demands that typically accompany larger events.
Vaux Studio begins each planning process by helping couples identify which parts of the celebration matter most to them, whether photography, dining, design atmosphere or time spent with guests. The event structure is then organized around those priorities instead of following a fixed planning formula.
It also integrates floral design directly into its wedding packages. The decision came after the company recognized that many florists maintained minimum investment requirements designed for larger weddings, creating unnecessary cost and coordination challenges for micro-wedding clients.
The venue maintains a curated network of vendor partners and works closely with photographers, caterers and other collaborators throughout the planning process. It believes tighter coordination between design, layout and vendor execution helps create a more cohesive experience while reducing stress for couples.
Refining the Micro-Wedding Model
One important transition in Vaux Studio’s development occurred in 2025 when its ownership transferred from its founder to Chanel Friscia, who had previously worked with the venue as a coordinator after hosting her own wedding there.
That perspective as both client and team member helped shape changes to the venue’s planning structure. One recurring issue involved floral coordination for micro-weddings. Smaller guest counts often required less extensive floral installations, but many clients still faced vendor minimums that exceeded their actual event needs.
After assuming ownership, Friscia restructured the venue packages to include foundational floral design directly within the Vaux experience. The adjustment simplified vendor coordination while helping maintain stronger design consistency throughout ceremonies and receptions.
The result was a more streamlined planning process, fewer logistical burdens for couples and a more cohesive visual environment across each event.
Looking ahead, Vaux Studio expects intentional guest counts, immersive design experiences and sustainability-conscious planning to continue shaping the wedding industry. The venue plans to continue refining its design-centered approach while maintaining its focus on intimate celebrations built around authenticity, thoughtful planning and emotionally connected guest experiences.
